Historical Information

Origin: The Kirin Blade is an Akechi family heirloom passed down since the very first ancestor of the Akechi clan his name was Akechi Akari. The Origin of the Kirin Blade is questioned by many scholars if whether the taleis true or simply a myth. However the tale of the Kirin Blade was that many centuries ago during the Ancient times of Jynuki a wandering Samurai named Akari was on a mission for his Lord to stop a tyrannical daimyo from taking over the western Lands of the region Akari was born in. However upon his noble mission a band of the Daimyo's soldiers ambushed Akari and mortally wounded Akari leaving his corpse to the animals. Just minutes later it was said that a Kirin passed through the area in which Akari was laying in a pool of his own blood, the Kirin felt sorry for him and placed him on it's back to carry him to the Kirins home. Upon waking up in a dark cavern Akari nooced a Kirin was standing over him Akari having never seen a Kirin before jumped back in terror as the creature told him that he patched up his wounds. After the surprise encounter Akari and the Kirin began speaking to one another telling tales of both the mystical portion of the land and the human portion of the land. Overtime the two began seeing one another often and eventually formed a bond of friendship, the Kirin had given Akari a mystical Katana as a token of the bond they shared, and so the tale of The Kirin Blade ends.
